Student Advancement Officers provide valuable professional experience in alumni engagement and fundraising while helping you grow and refine your interpersonal communication skills. For nearly 30 years, Kenyon’s student Phonathon callers have been an important connection between the College and a network of more than 30,000 Kenyon alumni, parents and friends. We believe that keeping the Kenyon community strong starts with meaningful relationships and engagement.

Each year, our team, in partnership with the senior class, leads the Senior Class Challenge. The Senior Class Challenge is an annual tradition that involves fun events, Kenyon merch, and philanthropy education. The challenge culminates with a goal of 70% of your class to make a gift of any amount to the College before graduation.

The Brown Family Environmental Center (BFEC) is a 610-acre preserve located in the Kokosing River Valley of central Ohio. Our mission: to conserve natural diversity and engage people of all ages with nature. The BFEC also provides opportunities for education and research.

Campus Mediators is a campus-wide program with the mission to prevent and resolve conflict within the College community through peer-to-peer mediation, dialogue and conflict resolution skill building. Mediators serve the campus community as neutral mediators of conflict, facilitators of dialogue and promoters of conflict resolution practices. If you have questions or would like to schedule a mediation, you can schedule online, complete the Mediation Interest Form, or contact the Ombuds Office.

The Cox Health and Counseling Center offers a full range of student-centered health and counseling services and promotes health on campus with a variety of wellness programs and events. Our professional staff includes nurses, nurse practitioners, collaborating physicians, a psychologist, a contract psychiatrist, and licensed counselors.

All students enrolled at the College are eligible to access all services provided by the Center.

The Kenyon College Office for Community Partnerships fosters collaboration between Kenyon and the Knox County community for purposeful and positive engagement in addressing issues of common interest. The office works with local organizations, institutions and businesses to strengthen the fabric of community life while advancing the mission of the College to provide a fulfilling liberal arts education and promote civic responsibility.

To accomplish our educational mission, we engage faculty and community representatives as equal partners in developing student research assignments connected with everyday life; in creating opportunities to apply academic knowledge to real-world problems; and in providing hands-on experiences with social and civic realities.

The Office for Community Partnerships is located in the Wright Center in downtown Mount Vernon.

Mission
The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) serves as the hub for campus involvement outside of the classroom. The OSE can help students connect their passion to their life’s purpose while linking to other students with shared interests. Students who are involved are proven to have a more robust and enriching college experience.

Serving over 100 active student organizations, the OSE oversees interest-based organizations, club sports, as well as Greek Life. Organizations are divided into a variety of categories such as media and publications, health and wellness, multicultural and identity based, academic and pre-professional, creative and performing arts, political and activism, as well as environmental and sustainability. Students also have the ability to charter new student organizations if one doesn’t currently exist that meets their needs. Each fall semester, the office hosts a Student Involvement Fair showcasing active organizations as well as ways to engage with other campus and community partners.

Kenyon’s historic campus is home to some of the nation’s oldest Greek organizations. Kenyon boasts four national fraternities, three local and one national sororities, and one gender inclusive community service-based society. About 25% of the campus is involved in a Greek organization. Greek membership is built on the pillars of leadership, service, ritual, friendship and scholarship.

The OSE also supports initiatives of Student Council, Kenyon’s student government. The Student Engagement staff advise some of the largest and most active student organizations on campus including Social Board (the campus programming board), the Horn Gallery (live music and arts venue) and the WKCO 91.9 FM radio station. OSE also advises various Class Committees that are tied to Student Council.

You’ll also find the OSE supporting signature campus events such as Orientation and Welcome Week, Homecoming, Family Weekend and a Kenyon staple, Summer Sendoff, (planned by Social Board) each April.

The Kenyon College Ombudsperson (Ombuds) is a neutral conflict resolution professional whose primary responsibility is to be an informal and independent resource for people who have questions, concerns or issues internal to the College. All students, faculty and staff may consult with the ombuds about whatever is troubling them. The ombuds will listen without judgment, help with evaluating options and may provide coaching tips on how best to proceed. All communication is held confidential with limited exceptions. Meetings can be held at the ombuds' office, another location, virtually or over the phone.
